When I showed up a couple hours later I noticed this bike and made a gesture toward it. It turns out a man had given it to Mike to pay it forward. Knowing my love for all bikes Mike asked if I would like it. Long story short: I love it. It is smooth, solid, and proper. Great to shoot a camera from; it glides through side streets with a certain elegance, or grace. I decided if I was going to expect to ride at all this year I'd have to take any opportunity that came up. This passed weekend- it did. I went away this weekend with a group of aquaintences who I only shared one mutual friend. The decision wasn't hard as I wouldn't expect to be invited unless it was all a good bunch of shredders. I had a blast shredding with a few new bros, in near perfect conditions. It was unreal. To be honest it was occasionally icy in high traffic areas but a constant dusting of perfectly fluffy powder draped the glades so well. I had no qualms with the conditions. Warm enough to wear a First Ascent down sweater under a basic lululemon hoodie, and pipe gloves. I didn’t even wear goggles last night as we got a quick few in as the hill closed, and finished appropriately après ski: at the Bar. Dude, picture this: Four gnarly shredders enjoyed 2 rounds of Mixers, and 4 rounds of Liquid Cocaine. I must have still had wings from the two Red Bull I payed no concern to guzzling before my first run, because the effects of the night’s alcohol abuse hadn’t set in until later that night. As we played beer pong in it’s most challenging form: pinging single beer bottles, using paddles. It was most fun, and we totally bro’d out- we six dudes. The ladies kept up the fire, and made coffee liqueurs inside as we played in the garage. Eventually the evening fizzled out after a long day of shredding. I should mention that this photographer while packing could not find his camera. I decided to bite the bullet, shoot film, use my iPhone, and my GoPro. It was a good combo, and I got lots of cool footage.
